Renting in Courchevel Village

Rent a chalet or apartment in Courchevel Village (1550) with AEC Collection

Courchevel Village occupies the intermediate level of the valley, at 1550m, set on a wooded ridge. It comprises just a few streets, and the address chosen shapes the character of your stay. The heart, where shops, bakery and ski schools are concentrated. The ski slope, at the foot of the Grangettes cable car, to ski from your door and return skis on your feet. The wooded heights, more secluded, where chalets catch the late afternoon light above the fir trees. Finally the Eaux Vives road, which leads towards Aquamotion and Courchevel Moriond, practical when arriving by car.

The choice hinges less on prestige than on the rhythm of your days. A family with young skiers benefits from staying near the ski slope and the free Roys drag lift, a stone’s throw from the village’s green run. A group planning to dine at Courchevel 1850 will choose proximity to the cable car, which also runs in the evening. Those seeking peace will aim for the forest edge, a few minutes from the free shuttles. Tell us how you spend your holidays, and we will guide you to the right neighbourhood. Stays are reserved by the week; the calendar and availability shown are current, and booking is done online.

The spirit of Courchevel Village

Village scale, access to a world-class domain

Here, the mountains are experienced at human scale: a manageable ski slope, fir trees all around, and the world’s largest connected ski area just down the street.

Before the ski lifts, the valley lived from alpine pastures, livestock and cheese, and the commune still counts some twenty villages and hamlets inherited from this rural economy. Courchevel Village was built later on this foundation, along the ascending road, never seeking the grandeur of its higher neighbour. You recognise the same faces at the bakery, and the calm of evening stems from a simple geographical reality: night life is one level up, at Courchevel 1850, and a few minutes suffice to reach it or leave it.

The modernity of the place lies indeed in this lift. The Grangettes cable car, ten seats per cabin, opened in 2018, connects the village to La Croisette and runs in the evening too. Its cabins are lit by LEDs powered by solar panels, a French first at the time of installation: the equipment of a major resort, in a village where you can still hear snow falling. Our chalets and apartments are selected for their location, views and ease of access to slopes, the cable car and shuttles.

Through the seasons

Winter base camp, summer village

Winter

A single lift is enough to access the domain: the Grangettes cable car reaches La Croisette, at Courchevel 1850, in a few minutes, and the Tovets chairlift doubles this access at peak times. From there opens the 600km of slopes in the Trois Vallées, stretching to Méribel and Val Thorens, with return to the village on foot via a handful of green, blue and red runs. At the foot of the chalets, the free Roys drag lift and its green run serve as a learning ground, with no pass required. In the evening, the toboggan run descending from 1850 for roughly 2km is lit, and the cable car still runs for those dining at the top before returning to the quiet below.

Summer

Courchevel Village is home to Aquamotion, the valley’s major water centre, along the Eaux Vives road halfway to Courchevel Moriond: indoor and outdoor pools, covered wave pool, wellness area, climbing wall and beach volleyball. Around it, forest and alpine pastures can be explored on foot via family-friendly trails, such as Cascade des Poux, or by mountain bike on descent routes. Free shuttles run all summer between villages, so you can leave the car at the chalet for an entire week. Slow days, quiet terraces, and peaks that keep their snow into early summer.

Frequently asked questions

Renting in Courchevel Village: what we’re asked

Which area to choose in Courchevel Village (1550)?

Four options emerge. The ski slope and surroundings of the Grangettes cable car for skiing from and to your door. The village centre for shops and ski schools within walking distance. The wooded heights for views and peace, with a few extra minutes’ walk. And the Eaux Vives road for those arriving by car who want direct access to Aquamotion and Courchevel Moriond.

Can you stay in Courchevel Village without using a car?

Yes, in the vast majority of cases. The village is walkable, the Grangettes cable car reaches Courchevel 1850 in a few minutes and runs in the evening, and free shuttles connect all villages, including Moriond. Tell us your parking needs, and we’ll verify the number of spaces at your property before booking.

Is Courchevel Village (1550) worth a summer stay?

Yes, and it’s one of its strongest points. Aquamotion is located in Courchevel Village and remains open outside the ski season, trails start from the forest bordering the chalets, and free shuttles run all summer between villages. The pace is that of a mountain village: hiking in the morning, swimming or a terrace in the afternoon, cool and quiet evenings.
