Renting in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville

Rent a chalet or apartment in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville with AEC Collection

Saint-Martin-de-Belleville has retained what many resorts have lost: a true village. At the foot of the Belleville valley, at 1450m, its stone and slate houses cluster around the church spire, and life continues here at human pace, far from the concrete ski fronts. Around the village, roughly twenty hamlets punctuate the alpine meadows: Saint-Marcel and its chapel, Le Châtelard, Villarabout, each with its own character and degree of tranquillity. Choosing your neighbourhood here amounts to choosing a rhythm.

The village centre appeals to those who want everything within walking distance: shops, restaurants, the cable car that climbs toward the ski domain. The higher altitude hamlets offer greater calm and unobstructed views of the valley, provided you enjoy driving or taking the shuttle. For a first visit, you naturally remain near the centre; for a longer stay, you venture out toward the alpine meadows. Tell us how you spend your holidays, and we shall guide you toward the right location. Stays are booked by the week, the calendar and availability shown are accurate, and booking is done online.

The Saint-Martin spirit

A village that has not compromised

Here, the mountains were not invented for holidays: they were here long before, and you feel it in every slate roof.

Saint-Martin-de-Belleville has grown in rhythm with the alpine meadows and the herds. You once read the time by the course of the sun across the roofs, and this agro-pastoral memory has not vanished beneath the snow of the ski lifts. Between the village and the hamlet of Saint-Marcel stands the Notre-Dame-de-la-Vie sanctuary, built in the 17th century, one of the jewels of Baroque art in Tarentaise and long a great pilgrimage site of Savoy.

This discreet village nonetheless harbours one of the great tables of the Alps, La Bouitte, where the Meilleur family cooks the mountains to the highest level. That is the entire spirit of Saint-Martin: authenticity without austerity, tradition that knows how to receive, ancient stone and great comfort under one roof. Our chalets and apartments are chosen for their location, views and the calm that is no longer found elsewhere.

Through the year

Two seasons, one same mountain

Winter

From the village, at 1450m, two lifts are sufficient to reach the Tougnète pass (2437m) and gain access to the whole of the Three Valleys, the world’s largest linked ski domain with its 600km of pistes. Méribel and Les Menuires are reached on skis, and the Saint-Martin sector, quieter, offers fine slopes to warm up before the bigger circuits. Come evening, you return to the calm of a true village rather than the bustle of a resort frontage.

Summer

In summer, the resort returns to its alpine meadows. Trails lead to Lac du Lou or the Cochet viewpoint, whilst the nearby Parc national de la Vanoise unfolds its hundreds of kilometres of marked paths among summits above 3000m. Family hiking, demanding trail running, downhill or enduro mountain biking, heritage of the old hamlets: the rhythm becomes slower, greener, and the valley reveals itself differently.

Frequently asked questions

Renting in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville: what we are asked

Is it better to stay in the village or in a hamlet?

The village itself puts everything within walking distance: shops, restaurants and access to the ski domain. Hamlets such as Saint-Marcel, Le Châtelard or Villarabout offer more calm and views, in exchange for a few minutes by car or shuttle. Depending on whether you seek village life or alpine tranquillity, we shall guide you to the right location.

Is Saint-Martin well connected to the rest of the Three Valleys?

Yes. From the village, two lifts lead to the Tougnète pass, from which you can reach Méribel and Les Menuires directly, then the whole of the Three Valleys’ 600km of pistes. You enjoy the calm of an authentic village in the evening without compromising on great skiing during the day.

Is Saint-Martin-de-Belleville worth a stay in summer?

Without question, for those who love walking and the open air. The alpine meadows turn green, trails lead to mountain lakes and the Parc national de la Vanoise is within reach. It is a more peaceful mountain setting, conducive to hiking, mountain biking and discovering the old stone and slate hamlets.
