The authentic village of the Aravis
La Clusaz was not built for skiing. It is a Savoyard village, inhabited year-round, which the mountains have made famous without ever stripping it of its soul.
Here, in reblochon country: the alpine farms, the maturing caves and the sculpted wooden chalets tell the story of a valley that has remained true to its pastoral heritage. The village lives, winter and summer alike, with its craft shops and restaurants where Savoyard cuisine sits alongside more refined cooking.
It is this blend that appeals to us: the authenticity of a real village and immediate access to a major ski domain, less than an hour from Geneva. Our chalets and apartments are chosen for their location, views and their ability to make you forget the bustle once the door closes behind you.
A village that thrives, summer and winter
Winter
The domain spans four massifs with distinct character: Balme for high-altitude skiing, Aiguille for advanced skiers, Étale for gentle skiing and Beauregard for panoramas and beginners. On the way down, the village and its restaurants, the spa and craft shops.
Summer
The circuit around Lac des Confins, at the foot of the chain, remains the emblematic walk, perfect for families. Around it: the Aravis pass facing Mont-Blanc, the legendary passes for cyclists, mountain biking on the Confins plateau, alpine farms and great hiking trails.
Renting in La Clusaz: what we’re asked
Which area should I choose for a stay in La Clusaz?
The heart of the village to get around on foot, with restaurants and lifts within reach. The hamlet of Confins for the quiet of the high pastures and ski touring. The edges of Beauregard and Aiguille to be closest to the slopes. Depending on your preferences, we’ll guide you to the right location.
Is La Clusaz suitable for families?
It’s one of its strong points. The authentic village, the gentle areas of Beauregard and Étale for learning, Lac des Confins in summer, and easy access from Annecy and Geneva make it an ideal family destination.
Is La Clusaz worth visiting in summer?
Absolutely. The circuit around Lac des Confins, the Aravis pass facing Mont-Blanc, the passes for cyclists, mountain biking and the alpine farms keep the village lively well after the snow melts. A genuine summer destination, a stone’s throw from Annecy.
