Les Gets fits into a pocket handkerchief, and that is part of its charm. The heart of the village, around the church and the Old Village, concentrates the shops, restaurants and direct access to the lifts: you settle in and need not take the car out all week. At the foot of the Chavannes, the main ski front, you put on your skis and find the family atmosphere of the resort. On the Mont Chéry slope, more discreet, the mood becomes residential and calm, with a clear view over the Mont Blanc chain.
The choice of neighbourhood depends mainly on your rhythm. A family with young children will appreciate the immediate proximity of the Chavannes and its beginner areas. A group who like to ski early and return to warmth will prefer a chalet a stone’s throw from the centre. The last of the true Savoyard villages
In Les Gets, the mountains are lived at human scale: a village of wood and stone, a square, a bell tower, and the ski domain beginning at the end of the street.
Here, no stacked concrete or monumental ski front. Les Gets has grown around its sunny pass, at 1172m, whilst retaining the scale and architecture of a true Haute-Savoie village. Chalets are built of wood and stone, roofs heavy with snow, and you still encounter local life between the shops. At the heart of the Old Village, the Museum of Mechanical Music displays over a thousand pieces, music boxes, orchestrions and automata: a rare curiosity, willingly visited as a family on cloudy days.
This authenticity takes nothing from the scale of the terrain. Les Gets opens to the Portes du Soleil, one of the world’s largest ski domains, twelve resorts between France and Switzerland and 600km of ski runs, whilst retaining the atmosphere of a human-scaled resort. This balance, the character of a village and the expanse of a major domain, is what brings regulars back season after season. A village for both seasons
Winter
Les Gets is seamlessly connected to Morzine, making 120km of slopes on a single local pass, and gives access to the 600km of the Portes du Soleil. Two aspects share the resort: the Chavannes, gentle and sunny, ideal for families and beginners with dedicated children’s areas; Mont Chéry, facing Mont Blanc, steeper and quieter, for skiers seeking red and black runs away from crowds.
Summer
In summer, Les Gets becomes a mountain-biking capital. The Bike Park unfolds nearly 128km of marked trails served by the lifts, and connects to the 650km of the Portes du Soleil mountain-bike area, one of Europe’s largest, hosting World Cup events. To unwind, the Lac des Écoles offers supervised swimming in summer, whilst hiking trails climb towards Mont Blanc panoramas, on foot or by cable car.

Is Les Gets really suited to families?
Yes, it is one of the flagship family resorts of the Portes du Soleil. The Chavannes slope has dedicated children and beginner areas, the village is safely walkable, and activities away from skiing, including the Museum of Mechanical Music, easily fill a day without snow.
Is Les Gets worth visiting in summer?
Absolutely. Les Gets is one of the Alps’ major mountain-biking destinations, with an extensive bike park connected to the 650km of the Portes du Soleil mountain-bike area. Hikes facing Mont Blanc, swimming at Lac des Écoles and a lively village complete a summer well worth the winter.

Stays are booked by the week, Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday depending on the property. You select your week on the calendar, send your request, and our team confirms availability. Booking is done online, with secure payment and the option to pay in instalments.
