Speed Mountain at Les Menuires: 1km of rail-guided sledging up to 40km/h

A large-scale rail-guided sledge

Speed Mountain is a sledge on fixed rails (different from a free sledge such as snowtubing): you sit in an individual or two-seat cart, release the descent, and the cart slides down by gravity along a metal rail, controlled by the pilot via a brake.

Technical specifications:

1km descent.

Maximum speed of 40km/h.

One or two-seat sledge.

Open during winter season and summer season.

Safety and access

The system is controlled by the brake that each user activates as they wish. Maximum speed is limited by the rail design.

Access:

From 5 years and 1.10m, accompanied by an adult.

To pilot alone: 10 years and 1.40m.

No qualification or special equipment required (the sledge provides everything).

Pricing

Standard pricing (to be confirmed on site):

Single descent: under €10.

5, 10 or 20 descent packages, at better rates.

Discounts available depending on season and resort passes.

When to visit

The attraction is operational in winter (ski season, December to April) and in summer (June to September). Peak times: 2pm-5pm, particularly during school holidays.

To avoid queues, aim for the morning (10am-12pm) or late afternoon.
