In Courchevel you can go the whole week without touching the car. Free buses link the villages from morning until after midnight, two gondolas run up to 1850 into the evening, and a regional coach connects with Moûtiers station. You do still need to know which line to take, and until what time. Here is the network, line by line, with last winter’s timetables until this season’s are out.
Courchevel shuttle buses at a glance
- Price: free throughout the valley; only the coach from Moûtiers charges a fare.

Courchevel’s free shuttle buses, line by line
The valley network is free and is built around four hubs: Courchevel 1850, Courchevel Moriond (1650), Courchevel Village (1550) and Le Praz. Each line has a letter, which you will also find on the network map:
- A1 and A2: the main route, with A1 running between Courchevel 1850 and Moriond, and A2 from Moriond to Village, Le Praz and Saint-Bon, as far as Le Carrey.
- B: Le Praz and La Tania, in 5 minutes.
- C: from Moriond to Bozel, via Village, Le Praz, Saint-Bon and Le Carrey, in 35 minutes.
- D: Courchevel Village and the Les Brigues area.
- E: Courchevel 1850 and the altiport, in 10 minutes.
- F: the loop from 1850 out to the Jardin Alpin.
- G: Courchevel 1850 and Chenus.
- H: Moriond and the Belvédère.
- I: La Perrière and Les Chavonnes.
- J: the hamlets around Le Praz, from Freney to Grenier.
Extra buses are laid on for the season’s big events. According to the tourist office, the shuttles are accessible to people with reduced mobility. The free Mobilité Courchevel app shows every bus in real time and plans routes that combine buses and gondolas.

Shuttle bus timetables: from the first bus to the last
This winter’s timetables have not been published yet. Last winter, the first bus left Le Praz at 6.55am and reached 1850 at 7.20am. During the day, a bus ran between Moriond and 1850 roughly every 15 to 20 minutes, and some services were doubled during the school holidays. The local lines finished in the early evening, between 5.40pm and 8.30pm, except for the Jardin Alpin line, which was still running after midnight.
After 9pm, roughly one bus an hour ran between Moriond and Le Carrey, via Village, Le Praz, La Tania and Saint-Bon, while the A1 carried on climbing to 1850 every half hour. After midnight, buses left straight from 1850: the last departures were at midnight, 12.30am, 1am and 1.30am, with the final one going all the way down to La Perrière. For this season, check the timetables in the app, which remains the one to trust.
From Courchevel 1650 to 1850, and from Le Praz
Between Moriond and 1850, the A1 takes 10 minutes, and it is the most frequent link on the network. From Le Praz, the bus takes 25 minutes to reach 1850 via Village, Aquamotion and Moriond, usually with a change at Moriond during the day. The quickest way up is still the Le Praz gondola, which reaches 1850 in 6 minutes; the Grangettes gondola links Courchevel Village and 1850 in 5 minutes. Last winter, both ran from 7.30am to 11.30pm. They are included in lift passes, except the 4-hour pass, and there is a pedestrian pass for everyone else.
The altiport shuttle
Line E links the centre of 1850 with the altiport in 10 minutes, in winter only. Last winter it left 1850 between 8am and 7pm, with 17 departures, which meant a bus every 20 to 75 minutes, and the last bus left the altiport at 7.10pm. In summer, no shuttle goes up to the altiport. If you are arriving by air, see our guide to the helicopter transfer from Geneva to Courchevel and our page on Courchevel altiport.
Moûtiers to Courchevel by bus: the S65 coach
From Moûtiers station, you are no longer on a free shuttle but on a regional coach with a fare: line S65 on the Cars Région network. It leaves from the bus station next to the SNCF railway station and climbs to Porte de Courchevel, at the entrance to 1850, stopping at Brides-les-Bains, La Perrière, Saint-Bon, La Tania, Le Praz, Village, Aquamotion and Moriond. On the direct coaches, allow roughly 40 to 50 minutes to Courchevel Village and 55 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes to 1850; last winter, on weekdays, several coaches went via Méribel first and took 1 hour 25 minutes.
Last winter, the coach left Moûtiers six or seven times a day on weekdays, depending on the day, up to 13 times on Saturdays and 5 times on Sundays. Booking is recommended, luggage is included, and you may not wear ski boots on board. For this winter, timetables and tickets are on the Montagne shop of the oura.com website. This coach is also how you get up from Brides-les-Bains to Courchevel: no free shuttle covers that route. When you arrive, the free shuttle or a taxi takes you the last stretch to the chalet.
From the airports, two coach lines run via Moûtiers: the Alpskibus from Geneva, from 11 December 2026 to 26 March 2027, and the LYS Express from Lyon, which has not yet opened sales to Courchevel. Our guide on getting to Courchevel covers the train, flights and the road.
Shuttle between Courchevel and Méribel: what there is
There is no free shuttle between the two resorts: each has its own network, and Méribel’s does not come down to Courchevel. On skis, however, they are linked by the 3 Vallées ski area, and you can cross from one to the other on the pistes. By road, you have to drop back down towards Brides-les-Bains, some thirty kilometres. Without a car, a taxi is the most direct option. To compare the two resorts, see our guide to choosing a resort in the 3 Vallées.

Taxis in Courchevel: Moûtiers, Geneva, Lyon
There is no “official” taxi in Courchevel. The tourist office publishes a list of the resort’s taxis and transfers, around fifteen taxi firms, private-hire drivers and transfer services, which you book directly. In season, and especially on Saturdays, book before you arrive. At Moûtiers station, a booking centre brings together 34 taxis seating from one to eight.
Driving times to allow: 30 minutes from Moûtiers, 1 hour 15 minutes from Chambéry and 2 hours from Geneva and Lyon airports, with no snow or traffic jams. On changeover Saturdays, when arriving and departing holidaymakers cross on the roads, allow longer.
Shuttle buses in summer
The free network runs in summer too. Last summer it operated from 6 July to 30 August, more frequently at the height of the season, from mid-July to mid-August. In summer, line H serves the Lac de la Rosière, 15 minutes from Moriond, a stop that does not exist in winter. The large buses carry up to ten bikes, e-bikes included, on a trailer. The altiport is not served in summer, and the S65 coach from Moûtiers runs fewer departures.
AEC tip. Choose your chalet with the bus lines in mind: in 1850, Moriond or Le Praz, you are on the main route, served until late at night, and last winter the Le Praz gondola ran up to 1850 until 11.30pm. If you are staying in a hamlet, check the time of the last bus before you book a table for dinner.
Where to stay
