At the heart of Val-d’Isère, at the foot of the Bellevarde Face, the Aquasports Centre brings together two pools, a wellness area, a spa, a climbing wall, a multi-sport hall, squash courts, a gym and a café on 5,000m². Behind its expansive windows facing the mountains, it offers refuge on stormy days, on lazy afternoons and during family summers.

The Beach Area, two pools facing the summits
The Beach Area spans nearly 1,000m², with stone, wood and glass creating a space that lets Val-d’Isère’s light reach the water’s edge. It comprises a 25-metre competition pool and a recreational pool of 416m² with a flowing current, water cannons, jet massages, bubble benches and a paddling pool for the youngest.
Supervision is provided by state-qualified lifeguards. Two useful notes: on Sundays the competition pool opens from 7:30am for early swimmers, and the recreational pool is reserved for baby swimmers from 10am to 11am.
Wellness and Pure Altitude treatments
Opening onto the aquatic space, the wellness area features three hot tubs, three saunas and a hammam. It’s the natural stop after a day’s skiing. The area is cleared 30 minutes before closing: it’s best not to arrive too late.
For more extensive treatments, the Pure Altitude Spa, located within the centre, has two treatment cabins. Its menu includes facial treatments, body treatments, wellness massages and waxing, created from mountain minerals and plants. With a treatment of 50 minutes or more, entry to the wellness area is complimentary on the same day. Note: treatment cabins are accessible only by stairs.
Climbing, playing, training
The climbing wall covers 135m² of floor space with 215m² of climbable surface, with 12-metre routes and a bouldering section, from beginner to advanced level. No equipment is provided: ropes and harnesses must be brought. Children climb under adult supervision, and the rope wall is closed to the public during group lessons.
The multi-sport hall offers 540m² of sprung flooring for badminton, pickleball, table tennis, futsal, basketball and volleyball. A squash court completes the offering, while a second has been converted into an interactive games area, NeoXperiences, with around a dozen ball-based mini-games. Regular sports enthusiasts will find a gym and cardio area equipped by Technogym, with on-site coaches, as well as fitness classes.
With children, and for respite
The centre has been designed with families in mind. An indoor children’s play area suited to ages 1-8 allows younger guests to burn energy while parents relax at the café. Outside school holidays, the centre also organises birthday parties on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, with supervised activities and refreshments.
On the upper level, the Café Lounge overlooks the entire centre: here you can enjoy a hot or cold drink and light refreshments. There are also table football games and the ELLIP6 driving simulator, which recreates the sensations of Formula 1, rally or GT racing. The shop sells swimwear and accessories, as well as towel and squash equipment hire.
AEC’s tip. Download the “Val d’Isère Sports” app before you arrive to purchase passes and book classes. For the wellness area, aim for mid or late afternoon rather than the final hour: the tills close 1 hour before closing and the area is cleared 30 minutes beforehand.
